Mattie's PlaceStories - Stories From A Country Diner

Stories From A Country Diner. The book is a collection of short stories, mainly centered around characters who hang out at a country diner. Many of the stories are based on the author’s personal experience. Yes, the author really did read all those books in his tree house when he was thirteen!

I really enjoyed this book and was a bit sad to get to the end. It was about a place that felt like home with people who felt like friends. I hope there's going to be a sequel because I'd like to visit there again.

I purchased this book as soon as it became available because I thought I would like it. What I didn't know was just how much I would enjoy the entire book. In the past, Jim has contributed to our local newspaper and I have always found his writing style and tales to be something that left this reader wanting just a bit more. As I read these short stories, I could almost feel as though I, too, was at the diner. I found myself smiling as I read on. Although I read just about everything I get my hands on, there are a few that really stick with me as as absolutely enjoyable read. This is one of those.
